This blog has been set up as a means of communication with my fellow peers for the HDG 400, 401 and 402 classes we are taking for our Honours year. The group I am in begun our research project by exploring the concept of ‘Urbis’ which is the study of City States. How they work, what is the cities hierarchy and systems? From this we have delved further and the one word that continues to come up is ‘networks’. From here my group and I have been researching different types of networks. These include Economic, Social, Sexual, Geographical, Virtual, System and Corporate Networks. After discussions and collaborating all of our visual and text based research in yesterday afternoons Analysis class our group has decided to explore ‘Social Networks’ and in particualar the aspects of Virtual vs Physical social networks aswell as the corporate and cultural side of social networking.We are currently working on the first poster in which we have decided upon a general ‘look and feel’ and will continue image research and text based research this week. The poster will be presented to the class on Monday 10th March.
